Hi John, these are great maps, love the sharp lines of the knock-out contrast abstraction as juxtaposed with the fluid fuzzy pastel lines; really conveys a difference in static structures and movement in these spaces. I would just encourage / push you a little further on the “qualities of the spaces that exist in your environment” part of the assignment, as it isn’t obvious what qualities are conveyed, exactly (i.e. the knock-out / black saturation makes me think you did these at night; the pastels makes me think of young children; what are the qualities of these movements and what do they do to the space?). With regard to your bedroom, what analytical layers are present here? Lights, warmth, and so on? With regard to the neighborhood it is hard to tell what the pastel lines are communicating. These are things to consider for future mappings (thinking about how shapes, line, and color communicate). Thanks!
