With the creation of electric vehicles, the world of transportation is undergoing a revolutionary change. Transportation is evolving as consumer look for vehicles that are more affordable, provide a better performance and are environmentally friendly. Each day, companies, entrepreneurs, and engineers are launching new products, technologies, and platforms to address challenges and opportunities in this space.

LXi is pleased to partner with KIA Motors to sponsor our KIA Case Competition as part of the LXi Annual Conference on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14. Open to all UCI students, the competition will provide teams with support to identify, develop and deliver their idea.

Finalists present their recommendations to Kia & Judges

The winning team of this competition will receive $2,500 as the grand prize.

Finalists will present a 3-minute pitch to an esteemed panel of judges on Friday, October 13, between 4:30-6:00 p.m. The grand prize will be awarded on Saturday, October 14, during the LXi Conference Awards Luncheon.

Joe Perez

Senior Manager of the Ownership Experience
KIA North America

Joe Perez is a dedicated professional with over 14 years of experience at Kia North America. Currently, he serves as Senior Manager of the Ownership Experience group, where he focuses on improving customer satisfaction and loyalty at Kia’s North American operations in the US, Canada and Mexico markets. In his various roles at Kia, including as a Senior Engineering expert in Customer Quality Metrics, Joe has contributed to the successful launches as program engineer of notable Kia models such as K900, Optima, Sportage and Forte. He holds an MBA in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Science degree from the school of engineering and technology from Cal State Los Angeles. Joe is committed to continuous improvement and contributes to Kia North America’s pursuit of becoming a leader electric vehicle space, and transition to a Mobility solutions provider.
