  1. Bruker engineer worked on this XRD for two days. The XRD is now aligned well. I did several tests and concluded that the XRD worked well. You may use it now.

Please do not touch beam side and detector side. It would be very time-consuming and costly to align the old style XRD.

  2. UCI purchase office generated a PO on 3/8/2012 and sent it to Bruker in the afternoon. Contact Bruker engineer immediately to schedule a service. Bruker service engineer will be on campus on 3/12/2012, which is the earlest possible date. The engineer will start working on our XRD on 3/12/2012 or 3/13/2012.

  3. Alighment was done according to instructions of Bruker engineer, but the problem was not solved. A quote was received from Bruker today. A PO request was submitted by Calit2 business office, following a quick approval by Prof. Yee. UCI purchase office is processing the PO.

  4. Received feedback from Bruker engineer. He indicated that this was because of misalignment. I am surprised at the conclusion because no user should change any alignment. I am going to test it again.
