This is to inform you that the major TEM maintenance service is postponed to next Monday (3/3/2014). As I indicated in my last email, the maintenance could last for two weeks or longer, so please finish any urgent work this week. When you have any problem to obtain high quality images/diffraction patterns, please contact me. I will keep you posted for any progress on this blog.

FEI engineer completed his work on 3/7/2014. The TEM was left pumping over weekend. On Monday, TEM HT conditioning started at 120kV and finished at 160kV. Today the HT was conditioned up to 200 kV. The alignment and calibration was done. TEM works well.
FEI engineer started the maintenance on Monday. The column was seperated and some object was found in one fixed aperture. A new part was ordered. FEI did not send the right parts to UCI. While waiting for new parts, the engineer is changing the IGP.
