Hi, Magellan users,
The Magellan is down now. The source beam is not stable. FEI engineers will continue to troubleshoot this issue tomorrow.
Please reschedule your experiment for tonight and tomorrow sessions. It is likely the source need to be replaced. We will find out with proper tools tomorrow.
Sorry about the inconvenience. I will keep you updated on the status.
Thanks,
Qiyin
The Magellan was up running on April 18.
Hi, All,
The Source power was installed yesterday (Monday). But the alignment has not been completed. The FEI engineer continues to perform the alignment today.
I will keep you updated.

The Power cable arrived today. The FEI engineer came in to install the cable and test it. It turned out that the new cable does not change the voltage readings. We have to wait the power supply arrival from Europe.
The estimate arrival time for the new PS is on next Monday.
Thanks,
Qiyin
We received the source yesterday Monday. The source was installed and system was baked out overnight successfully. Unfortunately, it was found today that the high voltage is not stable at conditioning step. It is likely that the power supply or cable failed.
Currently the power cable was ordered and will be arrived tomorrow for test, while the power supply will be delivered from Europe and will probably be shipped tomorrow. It is probable that the Magellan will be down by this Friday.
