Every month, Nu Rho Psi is immersed in the research of one spotlight neuroscience laboratory at UCI. The lab becomes the intensive focus for the month’s scientific and professional development activities.
Journal Club
We hold in-depth discussions of two papers that pertain to the research conducted in the lab. Members rotate leading discussions.
Lecture
Nu Rho Psi hosts a special lecture by the lab’s Principal Investigator and invites other campus neuroscientists to attend. Members come prepared with questions based on the journal club discussion.
Lab Tour
Nu Rho Psi members take an exclusive guided tour of the PI’s lab and get a close-up look at research discussed at the lecture series.
Faculty Luncheon
Nu Rho Psi members have the opportunity to have a casual luncheon with the PI to discuss their career trajectory, providing a valuable mentorship opportunity.
Blog
Nu Rho Psi members prepare a summary and a blog post about the month’s activities and posts it on the Society’s website.
