Dr. Christian Fisher is a postdoctoral scholar at the Teaching and Learning Research Center and the Digital Learning Lab here at UCI, working under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Warschauer. He received his Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from the School of Education at the University of Michigan. Previously, he studied Education, Physics, and Mathematics at the Ruhr University Bochum in Germany, the ETH Zurich in Switzerland, and UC Berkeley.

In his research, Christian:

  • examines online course enrollment patterns and student course performance by course modality at a large public research university,
  • evaluates the impact of scalable online teacher communities for teacher professional development on student performance, and
  • analyzes how microblogging adheres to design elements of high-quality teacher professional development and extends more traditional professional learning activities.
