Dr. Madison Fletcher is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Chemistry working in the lab of Professor Greg Weiss. She received her Ph.D. in organic chemistry in May 2017 from Temple University synthesizing cyclic dinucleotide analogs to probe bacterial signaling systems. As a chemist now focusing on microbiology, she is pursuing an interdisciplinary approach to investigate antibiotic resistance and cancer biology. She is also involved with the UCI Chapter of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), volunteering with science outreach projects and actively promotes increasing diversity in STEM on Twitter.

Madison is an enthusiastic member of the UCI Postdoctoral Association (PDA) and is leading the committee organizing our next “Postdocs at the Forefront” research symposium on September 28, 2018.
