About Us

The Synthetic and Chemical Biology Club is a consortium of research groups at the University of California, Irvine that aims to establish an interdisciplinary network of communication, discussion, and collaboration among its members toward the goal of establishing a community of scientists that make impactful contributions to synthetic and chemical biology.

Once per month, on a Friday at 4 PM, members of two of the groups associated with the Synthetic and Chemical Biology Club will give a brief presentation on their projects, with one of the primary goals being to garner critiques and ideas from other Club members. This serves as a great opportunity to hone presentation skills, spread word of progress being made among peers, and gain insight from many individuals in similar fields, but with varied perspectives.

Additionally, the Synthetic and Chemical Biology Club hosts annual events such as poster sessions, retreats, and cookouts to foster a sense of community among our members.
