Nader Bigdeli
As laboratory manager at the student health center, Nader Bigdeli oversees staff, ensures compliance with regulations, maintains quality control, manages inventory, upholds lab safety, and fosters collaboration. His role is important in maintaining a safe, efficient, and effective laboratory environment supporting student healthcare needs and center objectives.
Our Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS)
Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) at the student health center lab perform a range of crucial tasks. They conduct diagnostic tests on patient samples, analyze results, and provide accurate data to healthcare providers. Additionally, they ensure lab equipment is calibrated, maintain quality control standards, and adhere to safety protocols.

Our Phlebotomists
Phlebotomists at the student health center are responsible for collecting blood samples from patients. They order outside provider labs and use various techniques to safely and efficiently draw blood and process ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity. Additionally, they label and prepare samples for analysis, maintain accurate records, and adhere to infection control protocols according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

Student Workers (Health Screeners)
Student Health screeners at the Student Health Center are mainly responsible for Covid, Flu A, Flu B and RSV testing. They use information and results provided by the Phlebotomists and CLS’s to prepare sample analysis, pack and sometimes send out outside provider orders to UCIMC and other providers.
