Strep testing is a diagnostic procedure used to detect the presence of group A Streptococcus bacterium, commonly known as strep throat. This test is crucial for diagnosing and treating streptococcal infections promptly, as untreated strep throat can lead to complications such as rheumatic fever and kidney inflammation. At the UCI Student Health Center laboratory, we offer strep testing services to provide timely and accurate diagnoses for our students.
