Illustrated is data on Turnaround time (TAT), or the time from when a test is accessioned until the result is reported, from 2019 to Week 5 of June 2024.
It is important to recognize these times as they depict the average amount of time patients are able to receive their results in between the performance of their tests. Minimizing this average is an indicator of timely communication between the lab and patients and availability and effective use of laboratory resources.
It is very crucial for patients to receive their results as soon as possible in order to proceed with proper steps and treatments to follow in a timely manner, if needed.
