So Cal Fluids XVII

University of California Irvine
Saturday, April 13, 2024

The 17th Southern California Flow Physics Symposium (So Cal Fluids XVII) was held at UC Irvine on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

This symposium brought together researchers from universities throughout Southern California, working in all areas of fluid dynamics, for a one-day exchange of ideas in an informal and collaborative atmosphere. The symposium presents a low-pressure environment in which students get to practice their presentation skills on their ongoing work in 10-minute presentations that are consistent with the APS-DFD meeting format.

We are grateful for the support of Professor Efi Foufoula, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering, UC Irvine.   Special thanks to Angela Lew (UCI Student Services),  Vanessa Tafreshi (HSSoE) and Constance May (UCI Earth Systems Science) for helping us organize and run this event.  The assistance of our colleagues in the SoCal Fluids community is deeply appreciated.

Presentation Format

Contributed talks are limited to 10 minutes with 2 additional minutes for discussion. This is followed by 1 minute for transition to the next talk and introduction of the next speaker.
