Student Selection

Each SIRiPod aims to accommodate 10-15 students. Students will be selected on a pod-by-pod basis by the participating faculty.

Program Goals

  • Introduce rising third-year undergraduate students to the practice and process of research, as well as research career opportunities, within one of the Samueli School’s strategic research areas.
  • Increase the number and diversity of UCI undergraduates pursuing graduate degrees (especially at UCI).
  • Enable graduate students, post-docs and faculty to enrich research ideas with interdisciplinary perspectives and cultivate interdisciplinary collaboration around strategic research themes.
