WordPress 5.5 was released today. This is a feature release with the following 3 updates:
- Speed – WordPress 5.5 includes a speed boost thanks to lazy-loaded images.
- Search – WordPress now includes an XML sitemap by default. This helps search engines discover your important pages.
- Security – You can now enable auto-updates for plugins and themes. You can do this on an individual theme and plugin basis.
WordPress 5.5 also includes some new features in the block editor.
