WordPress 5.7, “Esperanza” was released yesterday, March 9, 2021. This is a feature release that is generally updated manually unless you have enabled automatic updates for all new versions of WordPress.
Some of the new features include:
- Font-size adjustments in more places.
- Reusable blocks are more stable and easy to use.
- Inserter drag-and-drop feature
- Full-height alignment in the Cover block.
- Buttons block now allows vertical or horizontal layouts.
- Social Icons block allows you to change the size of the icons.
WordPress 5.7 also includes an update to jQuery. Make sure your themes and plugins are up to date and see if they are compatible with 5.7 before upgrading.
