Undergrad Ryan Myrick published a paper in Biofabrication regarding a micropyramid-patterned, oxygen-permeable bottomed dish for high density culture of pancreatic islets. As research and better management devices are developed for people with type 1 diabetes, creating a viable means to culture high density islet cells while maintaining cellular viability is essential. In this paper, Myrick, et al., outline the fabrication and results of pancreatic islet cells in the novel culture dish. Read all about here.
