On April 13^th, the Finlayson-Pitts welcomed a group of 18 undergraduates students from Pepperdine University (CA) for a visit of the labs and hosted some demonstrations and lab tour for the Chem. Honors Program Research Saturday on April 30th.  Both times, students learned about what it is like to do research in an university lab, and performed hand-on activities including making “SOA particles in a bottle” from the reaction of O₃ and alpha-pinene as well as detecting trace chemicals on dollar bills and nicotine from unlit cigarette using our state-of-the-art DART-MS.
