Ellie Wingen joins us in the lab this summer from our sister school, UC Riverside, beginning her 2nd year as a chemistry major.  She is using diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (DRIFTS) to examine the oxidation of neonicotinoid pesticides from the photocatalysis of titanium dioxide.  In addition to majoring in chemistry, she is part of UCR’s LEAPED program which aims to educate university members and the community about disabilities.  In her free time, she enjoys visiting car meets with friends to admire muscle cars, exotics, and others – Welcome to the group Ellie!
