Tatiane Lima

Tatiane Lima joined the lab as a Project Scientist in July 2020. She obtained her PhD in Physiology at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2015, and worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at UCI for 5 years.

In the Pearlman Lab, Tatiane have been working on characterizing innate immune cell sub-populations in bacterial and fungal infections, particularly a sub-population of neutrophils that express the adhesion molecule ICAM-1 and present enhanced effector functions with increased production of chemokines, and pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

To relax from a busy week, Tatiane spends her time dancing, swimming, and traveling.
