Doctor Penelope Collins of UCI
Dr. Penelope Collins is devoted to supporting language and literacy development for all children and youth. Her research examines the development of literacy skills among linguistically diverse students from kindergarten through high school, for typically-achieving students and those with reading disabilities.

The Orange County CRLP regional site is one of several throughout California. Housed at the University of California, Irvine, we are part of the School of Education, in the Center for Educational Partnerships. We work alongside other Subject Matter Projects within the UCI Teacher Academy.

California Reading and Literature Project

The California Reading & Literature Project (CRLP) actively develops teacher leadership to collaborate in teams with university faculty and researchers to develop CRLP’s professional learning content. CRLP establishes partnerships with schools and districts to provide TK–12 teachers with comprehensive, high-quality professional learning for teaching reading, subject literacy and academic language. Read More
