Dr. Qingda Hu, triumphant in his doctoral defense

 

 

 

 

On May 03, 2022, colleagues, faculty and friends filled the auditorium in the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) to watch Qingda Hu successfully defend his doctoral thesis. It was the first defense for BEAMS lab that was conducted in person since the beginning of the Covid 19 Pandemic.  To hallmark the fun of in person academia, Dr. Hu’s defense had a lively Q and A, showcasing an engaged audience and a well crafted defense.  Qingda will continue his work in optical systems working at Vala Sciences.  Congratulations Dr. Hu!
