Common blocks are listed first in the Gutenberg Editor. If you have already been using WordPress, these blocks will probably look familiar:
Paragraph Block
This is the most common block. If you start a new Page or Post and start typing, you will be in the Paragraph block. It includes a simple formatting toolbar.
You also have some options like using a Drop Cap or changing the background and text colors. You can change the preset size of the text by choosing a font size or typing a custom size in pixels.
List Block
The List block adds bulleted or numbered lists.

Image Block
The Image block helps you insert images from your Media Library, upload or from a URL. This is an example of an Image block.
Heading Block
Heading blocks help you to add headings to introduce new sections and organize your content. You can change the style and add links using the formatting toolbar.
Quote Block
The Quote block gives your quotes visual emphasis.

Cover
The Cover block helps you add an image or a video with text overlay. This is an example of a Cover block.

The Gallery block displays multiple images in a rich gallery. This is an example of a gallery.
Audio Block

File Block
The File block helps you add a download button to a downloadable file, like a PDF.
Video Block
The Video block helps you embed a video from your Media Library or from a URL. We recommend using YouTube or Vimeo to host your videos as these services have the proper codexes to play them well.
