Strategies for Cross-Examining Law and Literature

The bulk of this talk will outline various ways to link law and literature. It will end by citing a literary work, The Marrow of Tradition (1901) by Charles W. Chesnutt, to provide an historical perspective on hate speech in the media. Specifically, it will reference Chesnutt’s work to address the role of a newspaper inciting a racial massacre. (No need to read the novel before hand.)
