Teaching is one of PhD requirements in the Department of Informatics at UCI. As a PhD student you have to be a TA or reader for at least two quarters, which enhances the student’s teaching skills and educations abilities. To prepare the students to become a professional TAs, a Teaching Assistant Seminar (ICS 398A) course required on or before the quarter they appointed to teach.
