Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated – Chi Chapter at the University of California, Irvine

MISSION STATEMENT

Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated is an academic, community, social, and multicultural sorority. We are a solid network of women in higher education who have chosen to unite in order to enhance our college experiences. We provide our members with a support system once they have entered the university – a family away from home. Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated has developed a strong, safe, and loving environment where friendships grow, characters build, knowledge is shared, and multicultural sisterhood is created. We uphold the values of self-improvement, scholastic excellence, civic responsibility, unity, higher education, and a bond of sisterhood that will last a lifetime. Our founder, Linda V. Fuentes, along with 26 other founding mothers, established Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated in 1986 at Sacramento State University. Chi Chapter, the newest addition to Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated, was established at the University of California, Irvine in 2010 as the 22nd chapter by 13 strong, beautiful, and intelligent women. Our motto is “Beauty through diversity, unity through sisterhood.”  We do not just say this; we live it and embrace it every day. By being a multicultural-based sorority, we may stand out, but we never stand alone! Any and every girl, regardless of background or ethnicity, is welcome to discover what it means to be a Lambda.
