Join the UCI Public health Student Volunteer Core!

The mission of the Public Health Student Volunteer Core (PHSVC) is to serve the UCI campus and our surrounding communities to improve health and well-being through research and community engagement. The PHSVC is an organization aimed at mobilizing students for Public Health research and volunteer opportunities. PHSVC originated from Dean Bernadette Boden-Albala’s student research group called the Social Epidemiology and Research in Community Health Lab. There are many community-based research projects and Public Health campus initiatives spearheaded by Dean Boden-Albala that are great opportunities for students who are interested in peer to peer health education, social epidemiology, cardio-metabolic disease prevention, health equity, community health, community-engagement, community-based participatory research and working with grass-roots community organizations.
