On Friday August 22, Tram Le and Thuy Vo Dang visited the Asian Pacific Family Center (APFC) in Rosemead, California to lead a seminar at APFC’s Summer Leadership, Education, Advocacy & Diversity (L.E.A.D.) event.

“LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Diversity) is a two-day leadership seminar that promotes leadership development for Asian American and Pacific Islander high school students. With the help of college students and working professionals as mentors, AAPI high school students become more knowledgeable in identity development as AAPI, particularly to encourage pride in our heritage and understanding of how we, too, can be leaders in the United States.”

“LEAD was developed in 2009 by Dr. Wenli Jen, who has been a trail blazer for developing youth programs that help to build resiliency particularly against discrimination against young Asian American and Pacific Islanders. For this particular program, the idea is to bridge the past to the present for younger generation to become future leaders.”
