Remote Lectures
Instructors may implement a variety of methods to deliver course content and facilitate student engagement.
Below are instructions for how to utilize YuJa and Zoom, two common tools that will be used by instructors.
- If your class is using YuJa: Access videos through Canvas (if your class is using Canvas) or the links provided by your instructors
- If your class is using Zoom: Instructors will provide you with an unique link for course Zoom meetings.

Remote Testing
Below are instructions for students for exams that are to be administered using Respondus or Examity.
We also want to make you aware that while Respondus and Examity are typically paid services, students will not be charged for using these services.Important Considerations
- Double-check the TIME ZONE
- Double-check the time of day for scheduling- AM or PM
- Run the computer requirements check at least twice, including once a bit before testing

- Download the Respondus LockDown Browser
- Your instructor will provide next steps
System Requirements
- Note: LockDown Browser is not compatible with Chromebooks or ChromeOS
- Windows: 10, 8, 7
- Mac: OS X 10.10 or higher
- Web camera (internal or external) & microphone
- A broadband internet connection

- A working built-in or external webcam and microphone
- Internet speed must be at least 2 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. Hot spots are not recommended.

Collaborate on Group Work
Your instructors have a couple of options when it comes to using Canvas to manage group collaboration.

Communicating with instructors & peers
Instructor/TA to Student
Your instructors have several options when it comes to communicating with you. Here are a few of the commonly used options in Canvas and EEE:
- Canvas Announcements: These will appear in your Canvas course space when posted by an instructor
- You can optionally receive these notifications via email or text: learn how to configure Canvas Notifications
- Class Email List: These will be delivered to you via email; you won’t need to do anything

- Zoom: The campus has purchased a Zoom license for every student, instructor, and staff member at UCI
