Overview
UCI Canvas, created by Instructure, is a fully featured learning management system centrally supported by the Office of Information Technology.
Canvas includes a variety of features supporting teaching and learning both in remote and in-person contexts. Most of the pedagogical techniques and ideas suggested on this website can be implemented within Canvas or one of the third-party tools integrated with the learning management system.
Integrated Third-Party Tools
The EEE+ EdTechTools website provides a rich overview of the many third-party tools OIT has integrated with UCI Canvas, including Turnitin, Ed Discussion, and more.
Waitlisted Students
Instructors can use the Waitlist Access Options Tool to optionally grant waitlisted students access to Canvas.
Canvas Sandboxes, a safe place to create and explore
EEE+ GrandCentral allows for instructors to create a Canvas Sandbox. These Sandboxes do not have any students associated to them. They can be used to try out Canvas features, experiment with ideas, prepare for a future course, and more.
Sandboxes can also be easily exported and then imported into a Canvas Course Space.
