EEE Canvas updates, 3/16/2016

There are a number of new features that were released by both Instructure and your EEE team. These include support for EEE Canvas sandbox courses, updated ‘To Do’ list, quiz preview, custom assignment dates for groups, and updated appointment scheduler.

EEE Canvas sandbox courses

Instructors can now use EEE GrandCentral to create an EEE Canvas sandbox course. Each Canvas Sandbox is provided as a working space in which you can create course materials, explore various organizational models, and experiment with instructional designs. All materials created in a sandbox course space can be copied into a regular EEE Canvas course space.

‘To Do’ list update

Issue resolved by Instructure

Instructure has resolved the underlying issue that prevented an accurate number of being displayed in the ‘To Do’ listing. You should no longer see ‘9+’ for assignments that have greater than 9 submissions.

Quiz preview for instructors

Issue resolved by Instructure

Previously, if you accessed the preview of a quiz, then clicked ‘Submit,’ Canvas interpreted this as a regular submission. This has been updated, so you should now be able to click ‘Submit’ on a quiz preview with no adverse consequences.

Custom assignment dates for groups

In addition to customizing assignment due dates for individuals and sections within your Canvas course space, you can also configure custom dates for groups.

Student view of appointment groups

Provided by Instructure

You can create a group of timeslots in which students can opt to reserve a space. In this update, the student view has been modified to make it clearer for the students.
