//To help LEXI users understand TEM literatures and operations, 4 lectures as listed below have been scheduled for Nov 14, 19, 21, 26. The lecture time is between 12:30 to 2pm. Lecture room is 1322 Calit2.

Lecture2: Electron diffraction- principles and applications
Lecture3: TEM image contrast mechanisms
Lecture4: TEM specimen preparation by using FIB techniques
//An EBSD problem was reported on 11/5/2013. With limited time today, I checked the connections and did not find any problem. SEM acquisition through EDS system was tested OK. The problem could be associated with EBSD software. I will check the system further tomorrow.
//A FIB problem was reported today. The ion source might run out. Contacted FEI engineer to schedule an on-site visit. The engineer contacted me this afternoon. Parts were ordered in advance. The engineer may be on campus tomorrow to install a new LIMS.
//TEM CCD camera has a problem. It is not stable under search mode. The recorded image seem OK. Just emailed Gatan engineer and waiting for response.
