The Magellan is currently down due to a stage hardware error. The service engineer will be here on the 14th to look at the issue.
The service engineer was able to fix the stage hardware issue and the Magellan is back up on 5/14/15.

The Magellan is down because of an issue with the aperture homing mechanism. FEI has been contacted and the service engineer is expected to troubleshoot the issue on the 11th or 12th.
The Magellan is down again due to alignment issues. The FEI engineer is running an alignment overnight and will be back in the morning to try and fix it.
The FEI engineers finally finished replacing the aperture and performing the alignment for the system. The Magellan should be fully functional now.
The FEI engineers have had issues replacing and aligning the new aperture. The FEI engineers will be back on Monday to address this issue. The Magellan will therefore be down through Monday until 5pm.
Neither of the FEI engineers were available today. The engineer is suppose to be available tomorrow to assess the pole piece. However, the imaging capability of the Magellan still appears to be normal and users may use the Magellan and quickloader in the mean time.
The pole piece was touched by a user’s sample today. Imaging capability appears to be normal but the damage needs to be assessed by an FEI engineer. Users can not use the Magellan until after this assessment. The engineer will be here Monday.
