Alllen key was dropped into the SEM chamber and could not find it. Do not move the stage! Moving the stage could cause damage to the SEM.
Magellan Quick loader has a problem now. It can not be fixed by the method I told you. A service call has been placed. Waiting for FEI service…Please use the frond door to change sample till the quickloader is fixed.
Quanta 3D SEM is OK, but FIB has a problem with the LMIS. A service call has been placed. Waiting for FEI service…Current LMIS may be close to its life time. I have a new LMIS available. The service engineer may replace the LMIS immediately if necessary. I expect that the FIB will be fixed soon.
Dear Magellan SEM users:
A quickloader has been installed on Magellan SEM. To keep the SEM chamber clean and save sample loading time, users no longer need to open the front door to load SEM samples. To continue to use the SEM after 4/16/2013, users are required to receive training to use the quickloader. Only samples that fit the Sample Gauge can be loaded. One sample stub of diameter up to 32 mm (1 1/4″) can be used, although standard sizes of 25 mm and 12.5 mm can also be used. Height can be no greater than 9 mm.
Please sign up for Quickloader (Magellan SEM) training by using following link:

Magellan SEM was down this morning. Contacted FEI on-line help, but the problem was not solved. A service call was placed. FEI engineer will be on campus by lunch time. More updates will be placed in comments.
The SEM is working at 1kV, but does not work for HT > 1kV. FEI engineers are informed and service call placed. Waiting for FEI service tomorrow.
