Celebrating My 500th Blog Article

Celebrating My 500th Blog Article

I am taking a moment to celebrate having posted 500 articles over the last six years, starting in April 2011. While I am not yet getting a Pulitzer, I have to thank my wife, Joan, for her patience in letting me set aside other things, in order to research and write these articles. She also served as a sounding board for many of the ideas, as well as helping me edit. I also have to thank UC Irvine for providing me an endless stream of seminars on energy, earth system science, water, law, and politics. I also have to thank the UCI Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) for doing the same, and also allowing me to give occasional talks on some of these subjects, as well as to lead courses on cosmology and astronomy. I have to thank my friends and colleagues at UC Irvine and OLLI for discussions and expertise in formulating the articles. Finally, I have to thank UC Irvine for hosting this blog in an unfettered manner.
