The Day Trump Declared Himself our Dictator, and Ruler of the World
Dec. 20, 2017 was the Day of Congressional Republican Obsequiousness to King Trump. It was also the day that Trump declared himself the Ruler of the World, by promising to punish any nation that criticized Trump’s self-declaration of Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel.
The World actions were done without the Advice and Consent of the Senate, as would be normal, not to mention input by American citizens. Remember, only one-in-five Americans voted for Trump, and he lost the popular vote by 3 million votes. Only one-in-three Americans approve of his presidency at this time. The World retribution would violate all sorts of treaties and contracts, which only a dictator could order. It would destroy all of the goodwill that the United States has earned for its foreign aid and treaties over all of the decades we have personally been paying for it in our taxes (and apparently not Trump’s taxes). If we believe in the US that States have their own rights, how much more do the almost 200 Sovereign Nations of the World believe that they have their own rights to determine their own votes in the UN. Trump’s acting as if he can dictate their votes, even by monetary blackmail, has to convince them that he is a great danger to the century-long progression to a beneficial world order.
The United Nations just voted 128-9 to reject Trump’s decision on Jerusalem, but Trump may have forced 35 nations to abstain.
Then there is the Trump and Fox (Murdoch) destruction of the reputation of the largely Republican FBI and Justice Department, in order to try to halt the investigation of the Trump campaign. Only Dictators work to destroy the Justice System to save themselves from punishment. There must be something there to require such action. Rep. Nunes, Republican chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has been revealed as holding secret, Republican-only, hearings, searching for some sliver of prejudice in the investigation. This is a last desperate effort, and no Republicans are brave enough to speak up for the Constitution and the great system of American Justice. Prima facie evidence of a Dictatorship.
We could largely expect Republicans to pass a Tax Bill to give tax cuts to businesses and the very rich. This is a standard move when they are in power. But never have we seen them and the Cabinet required to figuratively all take knees (in front of many American flags) and deliver obsequious accolades to the mentally ill Egomaniac who has predictably chosen to become our Dictator.
Nowhere in the world, or the history of the world, has there been such an egomaniac who always declares that every action he takes is the greatest in the US and the history of the US, and often the greatest in the world and the history of the world.
Actually, there have been many such King-Gods: Pharaohs, Caesars, Czars, Caliphates, Genghis Kahn, Kings, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, etc. But, apparently, none has ever been as great as Donald Trump.
