Super Tuesday Democratic Math

The Democratic primaries are so much simpler than Republican ones, since Democratic delegates are distributed proportionally. Except for the few super delegates. Here we use the number of delegates at stake, as reported on CNN.

Hillary Clinton swept the Southern states, and added Texas to that list. Bernie Sanders swept his home state of Vermont. Surprisingly, he won Oklahoma. He also won two of the states outside of the South, namely Colorado and Minnesota. This could spell trouble for Hillary Clinton outside of the South. Massachusetts, between Sander’s Vermont and Clinton’s New York, is close to a tie, which means delegates are fairly evenly split, even though Hillary has won it.  Clinton has received 71% of the Latino vote in Texas.  The total number of delegates listed below is 871.  So far, the NY Times has awarded 486 to Clinton, and 321 to Sanders.  That totals 807.  Below we list the number of delegates available in each state, but of course that will be proportionately distributed between Clinton and Sanders.
Hillary Clinton wins:

Alabama…………..60
Arkansas…………..37
Georgia…………..102
Massachusetts …91
Tennessee ……….67
Texas………………222
Virginia……………..95

Bernie Sanders wins:

Colorado………….66
Minnesota………..77
Oklahoma…………38
Vermont……………16
