March 7, US and Canada Coronavirus Update
Italy has the oldest population in Europe. The average age of death there from the Coronavirus is 81 years.
Today, the total of US Coronavirus cases is 433. We have been comparing the rate of spread of land cases, so we subtract the 45 from the Diamond Princess, and 21 from the Grand Princess to get 367 land cases.
Yesterday there were 272 land cases, so this is a gain of 95 in one day. The growth ratio is 95/272 = 35%.
King Co., WA remains the leading outbreak with 71 cases, up 12 from 59 yesterday. There are now 15 deaths there, up 3 from yesterday.
Snohomish Co., WA, has 27 cases, up 8 from yesterday, and the same 1 death.
I am using the data from the Johns Hopkins map. The news says that New York State has 89 cases.
Westchester Co., NY, has 57 cases, more than doubling from 27 yesterday.
New York Co,, NY, has 12 cases, reduced from 16 yesterday.
Nassau Co., NY, has 4 cases.
Bergen Co., NY has 4 cases.
Rockland Co., NY, and Saratoga co., NY, each have 2 cases.
For California, Santa Clara Co., CA, has 32 cases, up 8, or a third, from yesterday.
Los Angeles, CA, has 14 cases, up 1 from yesterday.
San Francisco Co., CA, has 9 cases, and is included for the first time today. Previously, it had to have had less than 3 cases, since it was not noted here.
Placer Co., CA, had 5 cases and 1 death.
San Diego Co., Orange Co., and Contra Costa Co., CA, each had 3 cases.
USC has converted to online classes until the end of this quarter in a few weeks.
Florida has 8 cases, spread across 5 counties.
Cook County or Chicago, IL, has 6 cases with 2 recovered (2R).
Canada has 60 cases, with 8R. 27 cases are in Toronto, same as yesterday. BC has 27 cases, up 6 from yesterday. Montreal has 3 cases, same as yesterday. London, ON, has 1 case, same as yesterday. There is 1 case in Calgary.
Mexico has 7 cases, with 1R.
In South America, Ecuador has 14cases, Brazil has 19 cases, Argentina has 9 cases, with 1 death, Chile has 7, Peru has 6, French Guiana has 5, and Paraguay and Columbia each have 1.
