2800’s scroll pumps were replaced and the one of the TMP controllers got replaced as well.

The potentiometer on the vacuum board was properly adjusted to display vacuum accurately. Now the vacuum looks good. Since we opened the evacuation line, we started a bake on 9/30/20 (1pm). The bakeout will be done Friday.

2800 is being baked right now. We are planning to bring it up on Friday 8/21.

Due to the lack of high pressure nitrogen, all three JEOL TEMs went down this morning. Waiting for high pressure dewars to be delivered (ordered on last Thursday).

One of the Grand ARM’s rotary pump is leaking and needed to be replaced and the water chiller pump was also leaking. We put the scope in sleep and then JEOL is going to replace the bad rotary pump as well as the leaky water chiller pump today. We expect this service will be done by the end of today.

2800 gun replacement has started and the scope is not available for users till the new gun is conditioned and brought up. Stay tuned for the progress.

Grand ARM vacuum is poor and needs to be serviced. Started on 11/1/19.

Grand ARM is up on Friday 11/8/19 in the afternoon.

After a bake, 2800 developed a serious IL3 issues that needs to be checked for short or grounding. The scope is not usable till this issue is resolved.

Grand ARM one of the CL aperture drive developed a fatal issue and the scope is not usable for high resolution STEM. A JEOL engineer is coming on Wednesday the 9/4/19 to look into this problem.

JEOL 2800 is getting a Nanomegas system. JEOL engineers are installing some hardware on the scope for the preparation. Also, they are going to fix the ACD tank and replace the dirty hard x ray aperture.
